All Wales Young Carers Festival 2023

Credu was the host organisation for this year's Young Carers Festival at the Royal Welsh showground in Builth Wells in August. Nearly 300 Young Carers and 30 Yacs (as Peer Volunteers) attended the two night event from projects from across the whole of Wales.

There were over 30 different activities over the two days focussed around creativity, physicality, well-being, entertainment, outdoors and voice and influence.

The Young Carers attended with their project workers and camped overnight enjoying the night-time entertainment on offer and meeting new friends.

The event was funded by the Welsh Government and a visit was paid in person by the Deputy Minister for Health and Social Care, Julie Morgan who also made time to talk with some of the Young Carers at the event.


90% of Young Carers said it had given them a break form their Caring


83% of Young Carers said it helped hem to make new friends


75% of Young Carers said it has increased their confidence


' It is a great opportunity to enjoy some time away from home and a chance for young carers to come together and make new friends' said a support worker


'such an enjoyable few days camping amongst other Young Carers. So much entertainment and amazing workshops to get involved with! We had a BLAST!' said another project
